Book week and fun in space

Hello,

We have had a lot of fun today as we got our treat after earning 40 marbles! So we spent some time together having a piece of cake and watching a short film. We have worked hard and really deserved it!

Because of the snow day last week, we missed our book day, so today we have been wearing our character hats, and they are all amazing. We have some fantastic artists in Oak class.

During Maths we have been focusing on money, recognising the coins and working on making different amounts. We wrote number sentences adding different amounts of money together and also had fun in a shop buying some different items and thinking about all the different ways we could make a different amount.

In English this week we have been looking at non-fiction books. We thought about the different features; contents page, index, labels and captions and the content of the books. We also looked at a non-chronological report. This is a report (information) that is not in the right order.

We had an amazing time on Thursday afternoon at the astrology workshop, where we travelled through space and looked at the stars, some of them were in different shapes. We learnt in takes 4 days to get to the moon. We also saw the northern lights as well as exploring rocks from a volcano.

This weeks star award is going to Luella for taking responsibility in the mornings. Well done Luella!

Our learning owl plop is flying home with Jessica for always trying her best and for her lovely presentation. Well done Jessica!
