Oak Class Authors

Hello,

In Oak Class this week, we have all been authors and illustrators. In small groups we looked at different traditional tales and re-wrote the story. To go with our part of the story we also made a picture on the computers. The books have been bound together and look amazing! They are in our book area for us to read whenever we like.

During our Maths sessions we have been looking at 1 more and 1 less. We have explored different ways to show this using tens frames and part part whole diagrams as well as writing the number sentence.

We have learnt about different types of houses in our Topic session this week, we might be able to tell you about the different types of houses in Redbourn! We looked at detached houses, semi-detached houses, terraces houses, bungalows, flats, trailers and mobile homes.

We practised our running skills today in PE, and learnt to run like Usain Bolt by using our arms to help us. We explored sprint starts! We had a great time and earned our 13th Marble.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has contributed to FORIS, this has enabled us to buy a brand new sound system for the hall which was installed this week.

Next Week:

Cultural week is next week, we will be learning about Africa, specifically Kenya. We look froward to an exciting week ahead.
Home learning is to find out something about Africa and record in your own way.
On Friday next week, we will be able to wear our own colourful clothes and bring in a money donation. The money will be going towards helping to provide toilets in Africa.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Oak Class
