Eddie the Penguin

Hello,

What a week! We hope you had as much fun as we did watching our Year One play 'Eddie the Penguin Saves the World!' Thank you for the wonderful costumes, they were great. Well done year one on a fantastic production.

We have also been busy with our Maths this week. We have been measuring centimetres using a ruler. We have also been exploring weight and weight objects in grams. We finished our Maths this week by exploring capacity and how many cups filled different size containers.

In English we have been looking at non-fiction texts. We have been reading non-fiction texts and non-chronological reports. We learnt some facts about space and recorded them with subheadings. We then used laptops and computers to find an image on creative commons and print it off and put it in our reports.
In creative writing we thought about a story based around 'space'. We watched some clips from space and used our imagination to create some fantastic stories.

Today has been sports relief day and we have been doing skipping, tennis skills, ball games and dancing together with Beech class. We then went for a run around the playground. We were exhausted! Thank you for your donations.

This weeks star award is going to Brooke for always having a good attitude towards her learning.Well done Brooke.

Plop, our learning owl, is spending the weekend with Noah C. Noah sang beautifully in our year one play, and has persevered with his learning. Well done Noah!

Reminders:
On Monday 26th March - all present and past pupils are welcome to join Mrs Byrne for some cake after school from 3:30-5.
Tuesday 27th March is our Party day and children can come to school in their party clothes (sensible shoes please).
Thursday 29th March - school finishes at 1:30 (End of term).
