Treat week!

Hello,

What a lovely week we have had in Oak class!

We have continued looking at number bonds, this week going up to 20, using our tens frames in different ways, and also using our part part whole diagrams. We looked at different ways of balancing numbers, and have all challenged ourselves.

In English we have been focusing on what makes a good sentence. We edited some work, putting capital letters, finger spaces and different punctuation to make a sentence even better. We also explored capital letters for names, places, days of the week and months of the year. Our weekly handwriting sessions have also been brilliant, with some fantastic presentation.

In Topic we have been learning all about Autumn. We know so many facts! Here are some of them;
"Leaves don't have as much food, so change colour and fall to the ground."
"Hedgehogs like to hibernate in the winter, they collect leaves at Autumn to make a nest."
"Squirrels collect lots of food like berries and nuts in the Autumn to get ready for the winter." "Sometimes they forget where they put them, so trees can grow!"
"It gets darker in the Autumn.!

During our games session this week, we have been practising our running skills. We have learnt how to sprint and use our arms, but we have also worked on running for longer distances and pacing ourselves.

PIPS group very kindly made us all jam sandwiches for our snack. They were delicious!
We got our 20th marble this week for amazing learning, so we had a lovely treat this afternoon. We watched part of a minion movie during learning through play and had a yummy snack of little chocolate cakes and chocolate stars.

We also received Paddington in celebration assembly for the best attendance, we were very excited!

Well done to Noah C for getting the star award for always being such a caring and sharing friend. Well doe! Also well done to Dilhan who is spending the weekend with our learning owl Plop. Dilhan has been practising his writing all week at home and in learning through play. Well done!

Our sharing assembly is next week on Friday morning (09:05) so we have a line to learn which is in our book bags. We will be practising next week. It would be lovely to see some of our grown up there.

Also next week on Friday, we will be collecting bottles for the bottle tombola.
The Christmas Bazar is on Saturday 25th November from 10-2, we hope to see you there!

Have a lovely weekend,

Oak Class
